The Wintergarten Berlin is the ideal place for unforgettable events.  Upon entering the Wintergarten Berlin, the visitor will be drawn into another world by the magnificent backdrop of the variety theatre. Dark velvet,  fine wood and the unique starry sky recreate the famous atmosphere of  the glamorous 1920s. The inviting foyer and the separate  restaurant offer enough space in a unique atmosphere for events of all  kinds.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are five parking spaces for people with disabilities. 
  • The bus stop “Lützowstr. / Potsdamer Straße” is 100 m away and the subway station “Kurfürstenstraße” is 200 m away.
  • Almost all rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps or via an elevator or ramp. Exceptions: Access to the gallery is only possible via steps.
  • All usable and raised doors/passages are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The cash desk is 93 cm high. 
  • Seats for wheelchair users can be provided in the upper stalls. 
  • The 1st row in front of the stage can be accessed via a step from the atrium. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible tables are available in the restaurant on the upper floor, in the bistro on the ground floor, in the theater hall in the atrium and on the plaza (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair-accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • There are two public WCs for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from the right or left side (at least 90 cm). There is a folding grab rail on the accessible side of the toilet.

  • There is no clearly visible alarm.
  • There is no audio induction loop system at the counter.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
  • In the restaurant at 1st floor as well as the bistro at ground floor there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is a seating area with low background noises (e.g. corner seating, separate room) in the restaurant at 1st floor.

  • Assistance dogs may be brought into all relevant areas/rooms after consultation when purchasing tickets.
  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • Some of the raised areas that can be used by guests are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • The signage is designed in easily legible and high-contrast lettering.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically. 
  • Steps in the theater hall and on the plaza are visually rich in contrast. Stairs have a handrail on at least one side.
