All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users".  

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are two parking spaces available for people with disabilities.
  • The “Neuastenberg Youth Hostel” bus stop is located 65 meters away.
  • All guest-accessible areas and facilities are either at ground level or accessible via a ramp or elevator.
  • There are no slopes steeper than 6%.
  • All doors, passageways, and pathways accessible to guests are at least 81 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is 91 cm high. There is no other equivalent means of communication while seated. 
  • There are three barrier-free rooms available.
  • The toilet in these rooms is accessible from the left (minimum 90 cm). A foldable grab bar is available at least on the accessible side of the toilet. 
  • The sink is wheelchair-accessible, and the mirror is visible even when seated.
  • Access to the shower is threshold-free. A grab bar is available, but there is no shower chair.
  • The dining room features tables that are a maximum of 80 cm high and wheelchair-accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm.
  • There is a public restroom for people with disabilities that is accessible from the left (minimum 90 cm). A fold-down grab bar is provided on at least the accessible side of the toilet.

  • In the event of an audible alarm. The alarm in the hallway is clearly visible.
  • There is no induction loop system available. 
  • Wi-Fi is available.
  • In the surveyed rooms (104, 204, and 304), there is at least one freely accessible electrical outlet near the bed.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed only by an audible signal. Stairs are available as an alternative. 
  • The dining room features tables with bright, glare-free lighting, with no lamps standing or hanging above them that obstruct the field of vision or eye contact.

  • The entrance area is designed with high visual contrast.
  • The signage (for wayfinding) is not designed with clearly legible, high-contrast text.
  • All elevated areas accessible to guests are illuminated with bright, glare-free lighting.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed by an audible signal.
  • Stairs have visually contrasting edges on at least the first and last steps. The stairs in the stairwell have handrails on both sides.
  • The font on the menu is simple and designed with high visual contrast.
  • Information is not available in Braille or raised lettering.
