Theater Zeitz in the Capitol

Theater Zeitz in the Capitol (René Weimer)

Originally built as a cinema, it was also used for film screenings until 1997. With the extension of the Capitol by a stage house and a functional building, it has been known as the "Theater im Capitol Zeitz" since 2004.

The theatre has 468 seats divided between stalls and tiers.

From October to April, the audience can experience events of all kinds. These include live concerts from pop to classical music, theatre, musical and ballet performances, cabaret and comedy as well as readings. The Capitol, built in the Art Deco style, has stood in the middle of Zeitz's city centre for more than 90 years. It is splendid, has left its mark on the cityscape and has been preserved as far as possible in its original state.
