Hessian State Museum for Art & Nature

 The Museum Wiesbaden is the Hessian State Museum. The exhibits are divided into art collections (Old Masters, 19th century, Art Nouveau, Classical Modernism, Contemporary Art) and the Natural History collections, featuring the permanent exhibition “The Aesthetics of Nature.”

 The museum holds the most important collection of works by Alexej von Jawlensky. Since June 2019, it has permanently displayed the Art Nouveau collection of Ferdinand Wolfgang Neess. With over 500 objects, it encompasses all types of Art Nouveau, from furniture to glass, ceramics, lamps, and silver to paintings and sculptures.

  • There are two parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The Friedrichstraße bus stop is 400 meters away.
  • All rooms and facilities that are accessible to guests are step-free/at ground level or accessible via an elevator.
  • All doors/passages that are accessible to guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • Most exhibits and information can be viewed while seated.
  • The ticket counter is no more than 102 cm high.
  • There are spaces for wheelchair users in the event room.
  • There is a public restroom for people with disabilities, which is accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). There are folding grab bars to the left and right of the restroom.
