Tourist information Halberstadt

The town of Halberstadt is characterized by its high historical value. For more than 1200 years it has been accorded more and more cultural importance. The founding of the former diocese by Charlemagne gave the starting signal for a development that is characterized by many historical, cultural and religious upheavals.

Here was crowned, ruled, built, pillaged and destroyed. And despite all this, Halberstadt was able to preserve its valuable identity. In addition, many art-historical goods are displayed in impressive museums and exhibitions. However, no historical possessions are as impressive and characteristic as the buildings, squares and streets of the city, which characterize the imposing landscape.
