Jugendherberge Alfsee (Björn Reschabek)

The Alfsee Youth Hostel in Rieste is located in the TERRA.vita UNESCO Nature and Geopark and is embedded in the Alfsee recreation center. It offers a wide range of leisure activities and a natural environment. The accommodation has 172 beds in a main building, a guest house with family rooms and a bungalow village. Seven conference and rehearsal rooms are available for events, including a separate seminar house with a 160 m² room, ideal for seminars and music rehearsals.

  • There is a parking lot, but none for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level. 
  • All doors/passages and paths that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 80 cm wide.
  • The reception counter is 92 cm high at its lowest point.
  • There are two barrier-free rooms.
  • The WC in the room can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). There is a folding grab rail on the accessible side of the toilet.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible and the mirror is visible when standing or sitting.
  • Access to the shower is barrier-free. Grab rails are available.
  • There are tables in the dining room that are max. 80 cm high and wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). There is a folding grab rail on the accessible side of the toilet.
