Mondo del Caffè | Café "Heimat"

In Edgar Reitz's parental house in the "Biergasse 5", the Café "Heimat" was officially opened on the 6 th of October 2013. In cooperation with the municipality of Morbach, the Edgar Reitz Film Foundation and the operator Mondo del Caffé, a café has been created in the center of Morbach dedicated to the creative work of Edgar Reitz.

The special atmosphere of the "Heimat"can be felt through large-format pictures with scenes from the film series. The original screenplays and important props have found a home here, and sequences from the "Heimat" films can be interactively retrieved in a separate room.

In the long term, Café "Heimat" will become a venue for events. There will be changing exhibitions around the topic of "Heimat". An integrated screen with beamer also allows film screenings in the café.

  • There is one marked parking space for people with disabilities.
  • The bus stop „Morbach ZOB“ is 150 m away.
  • Almost all evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are stepless accessible or via ramp. 
  • There are no slopes steeper than 8%. 
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 70 cm wide.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables available (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • There is a public accessible toilet available, which can be approached from at least one side (minimum width: 80 cm).
  • Foldable grab rails are installed on both the left and right sides of the toilet.
