All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users".  

Some information on accessibility are listed below. In the separate document "Detailed information" detailed descriptions are available.

  • There is a public parking lot for people with disabilities (distance to the entrance approx. 80m).
  • The entrance can be reached from the parking lot via a path that is easy to walk and drive on. Between the parking lot and the entrance, the path has a gradient of 7% over a distance of 5 meters.
  • There are no thresholds or steps to access the building.   
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests and are raised are accessible without steps or via a stairlift.  
  • The platform of the stair lift (to the vaulted cellar) is 80 cm x 120 cm. 
  • The sales counter with cash desk area is 78 cm high at its lowest point. 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is required. 

WC for people with disabilities (ground floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:  
    in front of/behind the door, in front of the WC and in front of the washbasin at least 150 cm x 150 cm;  
    at least 90 cm x 70 cm to the left and right of the WC. 
  • There is a grab rail to the left and right of the WC.
  • Both grab rails can be flipped-up. 
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror is visible when sitting and standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

  • There is no audio induction loop system in the ticket area. 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairments, but not for deaf people.  Advance booking is necessary.

  • Assistance dogs may be brought along.
  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast 
  •  There is a continuous guidance system with floor indicators. 
  • All raised areas that can be used by guests are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.  
  • At least at the first and last step, stairs have visually contrasting edges. 
  • The exhibits are generally well illuminated.  
  • The information on the exhibits is provided in writing and is visually rich in contrast. Information on the exhibits is tactile (Braille, prismatic lettering).
  • The following aids are provided: Reading aids.
  • Guided tours for people with visual impairments and blind people are not offered.
