A charismatic event center with a wide range of uses

The city hall of Bremerhaven is the event center in Bremerhaven and the region. The house is characterized by an entertainment history that spans almost 50 years of major events. The hall and foyer of the city hall can be variably furnished and designed so that events of all sizes can take place here. The varied program of events includes concerts and shows, musicals and comedy, balls, parties, flea markets, congresses, conferences and trade fairs as well as sporting events. The city hall can be easily reached via the motorway feeder road and public transport. A sufficient number of parking spaces are available directly in front of the city hall.

  • There are ten parking spaces for people with disabilities in front of the main entrance and an additional four at Wilhelm-Kaisen-Platz (side entrance).
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp or elevator. 
  • All usable and raised doors/passages are at least 90 cm wide.
  • There are five separate spaces for wheelchair users and one accompanying person each in the upper foyer (in the upper gallery of the hall). 
  • Depending on the event, there are also designated wheelchair spaces inside the hall. 
  • There are public toilets for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from at least one side. There is a folding grab rail at least on the accessible side of the toilet.

  • In the event of an acoustic alarm, the staff will go through all rooms or areas.
  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • In the elevators, the emergency call is confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • A video in German sign language is available on the website.

  • Assistance dogs may be brought along by prior arrangement.
  • The main entrance is visually rich in contrast. The house signage is designed in easy-to-read, high-contrast lettering.
  • There are glass doors in the entrance area. These open automatically and are not marked with safety markings.  
  • All areas are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • The stairs from the foyer to the upper foyer do not have high-contrast step surfaces, but each step has an LED strip. Handrails are provided on both sides.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing.
