In GONDWANA - The Praehistorium, you will experience the history of our planet and of life through the latest animation and audiovisual technology. Starting with the big bang over many earth ages, the dinosaurs with the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Giganotosaurus and many more, the Neanderthals hunting mammoths, knights storming a city, up to the space age, an impressive journey through the past of our earth for all senses.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are 14 marked parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The path to the entrance has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 6 % over a distance of 20 m.
  • The building is accessible without steps.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are accessible at ground level.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 80 cm wide.
  • The tour through the exhibition is about 1120 m long. It is not easy to walk and drive on in places (e.g. bark mulch path or cobblestones, larger thresholds) and has longitudinal gradients of up to 5%.
  • There is seating available.
  • Exhibits and objects are predominately visible when seated and information is predominately readable when seated.
  • There are two public toilets for people with disabilities, which are accessible from one side (minimum 75 cm). There is a foldable grab rail on the accessible side of the toilet.
