Tourist information Ilsenburg (Claudia Kepke)

Welcome to Ilsenburg

- the most charming town in the Harz mountains

Situated centrally on the edge of the Harz Mountains, directly on the Harz National Park, only a few kilometres from Wernigerode, Goslar and the Brocken, Ilsenburg is the ideal starting point for discovery tours through the magical mountain world. The town centre impresses with romantic alleys, glittering ponds and a relaxing, natural character. Half-timbered houses typical of the Harz Mountains, a lovingly designed town centre, small alleys and cosy courtyards - all this makes Ilsenburg a pearl at the foot of the Brocken. From the market square directly by the trout pond, the diversity of the town can be best discovered. Stroll through the streets and enjoy the peace and beauty of Ilsenburg.
