The state-approved resort of Frauenwald is located directly on the Rennsteig, the high-altitude trail of the Thuringian Forest. In the middle of the UNESCO Thuringian Forest Biosphere Reserve, we invite you to experience the unique and enchanting mountain landscape around Frauenwald. Flat hiking trails and routes with easy to moderate gradients offer ideal conditions and have always been appreciated by those seeking relaxation. 

The tourist information center is located near the entrance to the town opposite the spa gardens and is certified with the I-Mark. We make your vacation an experience! With tips, practical advice and appealing materials on excursion destinations, sights, accommodation and events, we help you to experience an interesting holiday. Here you will also find unique souvenirs, free Wi-Fi and a free e-bike charging station.

  • The Tränkbachtal bus stop is 300 m away. 
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible via a side entrance without steps/at ground level or via a ramp.
  • All doors/passages and paths that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 80 cm wide.
  • Information is mainly visible from a seated position.
  • The information counter is 72 cm high at its lowest point. There is an alternative way of communicating while seated.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities that can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). 
  • There is a fixed grab rail on the non-accessible side of the toilet.
