Wildlife and Adventure Park Daun

Wildlife and Adventure Park Daun (Wild- und Erlebnispark Daun )

In the heart of the Volcanic Eifel lies one of the most fascinating natural areas in Germany, the Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park. In a 200-hectare, magnificent mixed forest, many surprises await visitors on an 8 km long car safari. Experience red deer, fallow deer, wild boar, mouflons, bison, llamas, wild horses, donkeys and many more in the wild. The animals can be observed, photographed and fed from 6 viewing platforms.

Another attraction is the walk-through, 6-hectare monkey gorge, where an alert colony of 50 free-living Barbary macaques have found a species-appropriate home. Nearby is the bird of prey station, where the falconer demonstrates the flight behavior of his birds to visitors during daily flight demonstrations (except on Fridays). A new addition is the area of the terampeltiere, watch them sunbathe in their sand bath or pluck the leaves from the trees. Between these two areas we have a small bistro with a sun terrace and playground, which invites you to linger. You can get coffee, snacks and souvenirs there.

A very special highlight for children is a giant carpet slide, the large adventure playground with a gigantic climbing mountain 5.50 m high, two giant bouncy cushions and many other attractions. Children can even get up close and personal with the animals in the adjacent mini animal farm, which is home to mini pigs, rabbits, alpacas, emus, sheep, goats, cattle and meerkats. Since the end of 2018, a new highlight has awaited them at Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park: the walk-through kangaroo enclosure, where they can experience the animals up close and observe them from the forest paths.

The “Waldhaus Hirschberg” café-restaurant with its hearty cuisine is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat.
