Philara Collection (Benjamin Suthe)

The Philara Collection is a public exhibition venue for international contemporary art. In the former glass factory Lennarz in the central Düsseldorf district of Flingern, both solo exhibitions and thematic group exhibitions are shown on 1,700 square meters. The Gil Bronner collection, which comprises over 1,800 works, is also on display here. In collaboration with various institutions, events such as dance and theater performances, concerts, talks and symposia are held at the Philara Collection.

  • There is no parking space for people with disabilities.
  • The Birkenstraße bus stop is approx. 150 m away.
  • The rooms and facilities on the ground floor that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp. The upper floor and the roof terrace are only accessible via stairs, as are two small exhibitions in the basement (alternatively, there is a 3D tour).
  • There are no gradients of more than 6%.
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information can mainly be viewed from a seated position.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from both sides (at least 90 cm). The grab rails on the toilet can be flipped-up.
  • There are no guided tours for people with walking disabilities or wheelchair users.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • All areas are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • The steps of the stairs are not visually contrasting. Stairs have a handrail on at least one side. Exception: the steps on the ground floor.
  • Information on the exhibits is visually rich in contrast.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing. 
  • Guided tours for visually impaired and blind people are not offered.
