Zoo by the sea Bremerhaven

Zoo by the sea Bremerhaven

With its unique specialization in Nordic and water-related animal species, the theme zoo is one of the most modern in Europe. The location directly on the dike allows a unique integration of the large, near-natural facilities into the natural marine scenery.

You can experience polar bears, seals, penguins and the like in spacious enclosures with a view of the sea and only separated by glass panes. All aquatic animals can be marvelled at not only on land through bottom-deep panes, but also while swimming through underwater panes.Once brought along by sailors, the chimpanzees welcome visitors in their wide zoo savannah, at the end of the tour are the bearded emperor tamarine in the rainforest.

The North Sea Aquarium shows special "eye-catchers" like the lumpfish, the seahorse or the octopus. During the animal feedings, interesting, funny and unbelievable things from the animal world are conveyed and at the end of the tour the piece of cake on the terrace is tempting.
