Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report. 

  • There are three marked parking spaces for people with disabilities in the castle parking lot.
  • The "Thallichtenberg" bus stop is also located in the castle parking lot.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps or via lifts/stairlifts. Exception: the Burgfried viewing platform and the horseshoe tower are only accessible via stairs.  
  • All passageways/doors and paths are at least 90 cm wide. 
  • The paths at the front of the castle are easy to walk and drive on and have a maximum longitudinal gradient of 6%. Exception: the path from the Oberburg junction to the Zehntscheune has a gradient of 12% over a length of 16 meters. The rear part of the castle complex is not easy to walk or drive on.
  • Seating is available.
  • Exhibits and information are mainly visible from a seated position.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities (at the castle gate), which can be accessed from both sides. The grab rails on the toilet can be flipped-up.

  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevators is confirmed visually.
  • There are audio texts and sign language videos (DGS & ISL) for the exhibits that can be accessed via a QR code.

  • Assistance dogs may be brought into all relevant areas/rooms.
  • The paved paths of the castle have a tactile guidance system that starts at the castle parking lot. 
  • All elevated areas that can be used by guests are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free. 
  • The signage (for orientation) is designed in easily legible and high-contrast lettering.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically. The stopping position is announced by voice.
  • The steps to the Bergfried viewing platform are not visually rich in contrast. The stairs to the tithe barn have visually contrasting edges.  
  • A tactile model of the castle is available at the castle gate.
  • There are audio texts that can be accessed via the QR code.
