Tourist Information Boppard

Tourist information building (Rebecca Weinem)

Boppard – the pearl of the Middle Rhine – is a beautiful little corner of the world to fall in love with. In Boppard, you can experience the past and the present, and look forward to the future. You can get a sense of Roman history at the Roman fort. The proud Severus Basilica serves as a reminder that Boppard has always been an important Christian centre – something Pope Francis also appreciated, having learnt German in Boppard. One of Boppard’s most famous sons is Michael Thonet, the inventor of bentwood furniture, whose work you can admire at the Boppard Museum. Wine lovers can treat themselves to a fine glass of wine from the renowned Bopparder Hamm. And, of course, Boppard is a hiker’s paradise: seven dream trails take you over hill and dale, through dense forests and to breathtaking views. Those who like to be active will feel at home on the via ferrata, which exudes an alpine atmosphere, or can hop on a bike and explore the magnificent landscape. The chairlift takes you high up to the Gedeonseck, from where you can enjoy the sweeping views across the Rhine Valley. After all, the Rhine plays a key role: the riverbank is perfect for a stroll, and what could be better than raising a glass of wine to the sunset after a wonderful day’s holiday? Experience it for yourself. Experience Boppard!
