"Haus unterm Kissel" - Scout federal center Westernohe (Haus unterm Kissel - DPSG-Bundeszentrum Westernohe )

The „Haus unterm Kissel“ is located at the Federal Scout Centre of the German Scouting Society Sankt Georg (DPSG). Except the „Haus unterm Kissel“ the area offers three other guesthouses and a 28 hectar campground as well.

The „Haus unterm Kissel“ is completely on the ground floor and has nine barrier-free designed rooms, a loung and a large, light flooted, ground level modern conference room with the option of uising it separately from the bedrooms. Seminar and media equipment is available.

  • There is a parking lot for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp. 
  • All usable and raised doors/passages are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The reception counter is 130 cm high. There is no other equivalent means of communication while seated.
  • There are five barrier-free rooms.
  • The WC in the room can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the WC.  
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible and the mirror is visible when standing or sitting.
  • Access to the shower is barrier-free. A grab rail and a shower chair are available.
  • There are tables in the dining room that are max. 80 cm high and wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.   
  • Aids available: wheelchair, walking aid, shuttle service and bookable bus with lifting platform

  • In some cases, there is a freely available socket near the bed.
  • There are tables with bright and glare-free lighting in the dining room, with no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact. There is no seating area with low ambient noise (e.g. sitting area, separate room).
