Pet Park Werdum (Kathrin Rewerts)

The domestic animal park is centrally located in the village of Werdum, a unique Ark Park on the North Sea coast with rare and endangered old breeds of domestic animals. On 2 ha. there are 70 large animals such as donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs and about 160 poultry. A special petting meadow makes the slogan of the park come true: "Animals - very close".

  • There are three public parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The “Werdum Feuerwehr” bus stop is located 100 meters away.
  • All areas are accessible without steps.
  • Doors and passageways are at least 84 cm wide.
  • A ticket vending machine is available for purchasing admission tickets. The controls are located at a height of 130 cm at their highest and lowest points.
  • Some animals may be petted.
  • The loop trail is 600 m long and at least 200 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information panels are wheelchair compatible and visible while seated.
  • A public restroom for people with disabilities is available, accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). Fold-down grab bars are provided on the left and right sides of the restroom.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with mobility impairments and wheelchair users. Advance registration is required.
