- There are four marked parking spaces available for people with disabilities (parking space size: 400 cm x 500 cm).
- From the parking lot, you can reach the entrance via a 50 m long path that is easy to walk and drive on.
- The zoo is steplessly accessible.
- All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps or via an elevator or lifts.
- The elevator cabin is 108 cm x 220 cm.
- The platform of the lifts is 90 cm x 150 cm.
- All passageways/doors are at least 90 cm wide.
- The paths are at least 200 cm wide, with the exception of the path in the tropical rainforest, which is 160 cm wide.
- Seating is available.
- The aquariums/exhibits and information are mainly visible and legible when seated.
- Aids available: wheelchairs
- Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary.
Public WC for people with disabilities (in the foyer)
- The manoeuvring spaces are:
in front of the washbasin 176 cm x 98 cm, in front of the WC 178 cm x 96 cm;
to the left of the WC 30 cm x 70 cm; to the right of the WC 87 cm x 70 cm. - There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
- The grab rails on the right can be flipped-up.
- The washbasin is wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of at least 30 cm.
- The mirror can be seen while sitting or standing.
- There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

- The alarm is clearly visible in the entire building/object.
- There is an audio induction loop system in the lecture room.
- An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
- The information on the exhibits/aquariums is mainly provided in writing, some of it is photorealistic.

- Assistance dogs are allowed.
- The entrances are visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
- Almost all elevated areas that can be used by guests are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.
- The signage is designed in easily legible lettering.
- An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically.
- Most stairs have visually contrasting edges at least on the first and last step. Almost all stairs have handrails on both sides.
- There is a guidance system with floor indicators in the stairwell.
- The exhibits are generally well lit.
- The information on the animals/stations is visually rich in contrast. There is acoustic information.
- Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing.
