Adventure Center Mining "Röhrigschacht" (Max Schurz)

The Wettelrode Adventure Center is one of the most important testimonies to Saxony-Anhalt's industrial culture. The exhibition in the Mining Museum shows the 800-year history of copper slate mining in the Mansfeld and Sangerhausen mining districts in three major themes: "The Mountain", "Mining", "The Miner".

  • There are three designated parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests and are raised are accessible without steps/at ground level or via ramps. 
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide.
  • External paths in the exhibition are at least 200 cm wide and are predominantly not easy to walk or drive on.
  • There is no seating available.
  • Exhibits and information can mainly be viewed while seated.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the Bergmannsklause restaurant (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from both sides (at least 90 cm). There are folding grab rails on the toilet. 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary. 
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

  • In the Bergmannsklause restaurant, there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, with no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There are no guided tours for people with hearing impairments or deaf people.
