Britzer Garten

(Manuel Frauendorf)

Approximately one million visitors a year prove the great attraction of this green oasis in the south of Berlin, which was created as the Federal Garden Show Berlin in 1985. Joggers, walkers, pupils, mothers and fathers with prams, grandmothers and grandpas with grandchildren, love couples, nature lovers, pleasure seekers, those in need of rest and those hungry for sunshine meet here in the multi-generational park over the day. The Britzer Garden is characterised by the ten hectare lake landscape. The Rose, Witch and Karl Foerster Perennial Gardens are unique to Berlin and particularly worth seeing. Special gardening shows have been enriching the Britzer Garten range since 2005. At the big tulip show "Tulipan in the Britzer Garden" guests come from far and wide to see the incomparable splendour of flowers. The rhododendron show is the gardening highlight following the tulip blossom. The large dahlia show "Dahlienfeuer", which presents around 280 different dahlia varieties from the end of August to the end of October, ends the blossoming garden year. Catering offers, the Britzer Parkbahn and numerous events are additional attractions.
