The Three-Country Museum

Dreiländermuseum (Martin Schulte-Kellinghaus)

The Three-Country Museum, which has won several awards, is the only three-country museum in Europe. With the three-country exhibition in German and French, it presents the central permanent exhibition on the history and present of the three-country region on the Upper Rhine. In addition, it presents several large special exhibitions each year.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are two parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via an elevator. The gallery is an exception. This is only accessible via a staircase. 
  • All doors/passages and paths that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 80 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information are mainly visible from a seated position.
  • The counter/cash desk is 88 cm high at its lowest point. There is no alternative way of communicating while seated.
  • Seating is available.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from at least one side (at least 80 cm). Folding grab rails are available on the left and right.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary. 
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is only confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • Information about the exhibits is provided in writing.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairments, but not for deaf people. Advance booking is necessary.
