The youth hostel Goslar, which impresses with half-timbered elements and its slate roof, is located in one of the most popular places in Goslar, at the foot of the mine. From here you can ideally reach both the old town and the Rammelsberg Museum & Visitor Mine.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are no marked parking spaces for people with disabilities. People with walking disabilities may stop directly in front of the door.
  • The surface quality of the car park is easy to walk and drive on.
  • The path from the car park to the entrance is 70 m long. It is easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 3 % over a distance of 20 m.
  • The bus stop Theresienhof is 700 m away.
  • The path from the bus stop is easy to walk and drive on and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 7 % over a distance of 100 m.
  • The building is steplessly accessible via the main entrance a treshold of 2 cm.
  • Almost all evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via an elevator.
  • Exception: Raum Glockenberg is/are only accessible via a treshold of 3 cm. The common room with drink/snack vending machine nbur accessible via stairs.
  • The elevator cabin measures 105 cm x 140 cm.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 80 cm wide. Exception: the door to the lounge with drinks/snacks machine is only 67 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is at its lowest point 99 cm high. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
  • The counter in the dining/breakfast room as well as the dirty dishes collection is at its lowest point 87 cm high.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables available in the dining room/breakfast room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • Aids are not available in the youth hostel, but can be provided on request (medical supply store rental service).

Bedroom 002 (multi-bed room, ground floor)

  • There are other identical rooms.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are: i
    in front of essential stationary furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) as well as left of the bed 200 cm x 100 cm;
    on the right is the bed on the wall.
  • The bed is 45 cm high.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are: i
    in front of the toilet as well as in front of the washbasin 150 cm x 110 cm;
    left of the toilet 55 cm x 58 cm and right of the toilet 100 cm x 58 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The manoeuvring space in the shower is 80 cm x 100 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab rails available in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not available.

Bedroom 101 (multi-bed room, 1st floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are: i
    in front of essential stationary furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) as well as left of the bed 140 cm x 180 cm;
    on the right is the bed on the wall.
  • The bed is 43 cm high.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of the toilet 130 cm x 90 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 130 cm x 100 cm;
    left of the toilet 20 cm x 53 cm and right of the toilet 23 cm x 53 cm.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror is not visible while sitting.
  • The shower is not steplessly variable (treshold of 1 cm).
  • The manoeuvring space in the shower is 90 cm x 110 cm.

Room with sanitary room 103

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 100 cm x 200 cm;
    to the left of the bed 100 cm x 200 cm; to the right of the bed its no manoeuvring spaces.
  • The bed is 49 cm high.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:  
    in front of the sink 200 cm x 200 cm;
    in front of the toilet 200 cm x 200 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 50 cm x 56 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 44 cm x 56 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both grab rails can be flipped-up. 
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without steps. A threshold of 1 cm is provided. 
  • The shower area is 120 cm x 114 cm.
  • Grab rails are provided in the shower.

Public toilet for people with disabilities

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet and the washbasin at least 140 cm x 100 cm;
    right of the toilet 78 cm x 54 cm, no manoeuvring space on the left.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rail on the right of the toilet can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

  • There is no electrical outlet available near the bed.
  • The ringing or knocking on the door is not indicated by a flashing signal which can be detected in all rooms.
  • Wifi is offered.
