Weltenburg Monastery Operations Monastery Tavern
Weltenburg is a special place where the spiritual and intellectual power of the monastery and the associated monastery church meet the beauty of the river landscape of the Danube river.This all is best accompanied by the oldest monastery brewery in the world and its excellent beers and our monastery tavern. Enjoy our hospitality, our food and drinks in the unique atmosphere of this magical place. All guests are welcome, wether pilgrims, cyclists, hikers and excursionists or travel groups.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities".

- There are two parking spaces for people with disabilities.
- The “Kloster Weltenburger” boat dock is located 450 m away. Boat service is available only seasonally.
- The building is accessible without steps via the entrance at the tavern and via the entrance at the kiosk, each with a 2 cm-high threshold.
- All areas and facilities accessible to guests are either step-free/at ground level or accessible via a ramp.
- There are no slopes steeper than 10%.
- All doors, passageways, and pathways accessible to guests are at least 90 cm wide.
- The restaurant has tables that are no more than 80 cm high and are wheelchair compatible in that they have a clearance of 67 cm in height and 30 cm in depth.
- There are two public restrooms for people with disabilities, both of which are wheelchair compatible (at least 80 cm). A fold-down grab bar is provided at least on the accessible side of the restroom.

- There is no alarm.
- In the beegarden as well as the indoor-restaurant there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
- There is a seating area with low background noises (e.g. corner seating, separate room) in the beergarden but not in the indoor-restaurant.
