Brewery Museum Dortmund

Brewery Museum Dortmund (Günther Wertz )

In April 2006, the Dortmund Brewery Museum was able to move into the 1912 machine house and the 1968 machine hall of the former Hansa Brewery. The adjacent passage house now serves as the reception area. From there, visitors can also access the historic Hansa brewhouse and the grounds of the Dortmund Actien-Brauerei.

The Dortmund Brewery Museum is dedicated to the long and successful brewing tradition of the largest city in Westphalia and the Ruhr region. It gives impressions of the heyday of Dortmund as a beer city since the 1950s, reports on the history of Dortmund's numerous breweries and explains the process of brewing, especially industrial brewing. The production and consumption of beer before 1950 are considered as well as brewing in the Middle Ages.
