ART & GASTRONOMY IN THE ALMOST COMPLETELY PRESERVED ROMANESQUE ARCHITECTURAL COMPLEX FROM THE 11TH CENTURY

In the centre of the state capital of Magdeburg lies the Monastery of Our Lady, the oldest preserved building in Magdeburg (built in 1017/18). The Monastery of Our Lady (also known as Marienstift or Liebfrauenstift) is a monastery complex in Magdeburg's historic city centre. The ensemble of buildings is one of the most important Romanesque complexes in Germany.

Today, the ensemble of buildings is used as the municipal art museum Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen. It is the most important exhibition venue for contemporary art and sculpture in Saxony-Anhalt.
