The Forest History Museum St. Oswald shows the exciting history of man and nature in the Bavarian Forest from the history of the earth to the present day.
In the center of St. Oswald near the former monastery is the Forest History Museum, which is operated by the Bavarian Forest National Park. The museum shows the interaction of man and nature in the Bavarian Forest in a detailed, vivid and multimedia exhibition on three floors. The "Waidler" and their "Woid" are the center of attention. From the history of the earth and natural features to the glass industry and forestry to art, culture and customs, the exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of life in the Bavarian Forest region. For children there is a walk-in tree with a bird's nest. Guided tours are offered for people with disabilities.
