Museum Allerheiligenkirche

Museum Allerheiligenkirche (Florian Trykowski)

All Saints' Church was built before 1287 as an act of atonement for the destruction of the chapel of the imperial castle in Mühlhausen by the townspeople. The striking Gothic architecture of the former place of worship dates back to this period, but is also the result of an extension built in the first half of the 14th century. The tower, which dominates the townscape of Mühlhausen, also gained its upper storeys at that time. It is crowned by a magnificent Baroque dome. Since its extensive renovation in the 1980s, the building has been used as a museum.
