Water, forest and  lots of nature: Vacation in the Sankt Wendeler Land

Hiker's paradise, cycling area, cultural site, lake region. The Sankt Wendeler Land in Saarland is just as varied as its low mountain range landscape and offers a lot of possibilities for activities that are just waiting to be discovered and experienced.

The multifaceted landscape of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park as well as the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park is ideal for extended hikes. Bicycle tours with many shortcuts and connections as well as connections to supra-regional bike paths provide fun on two wheels.

Water lovers get their money's worth at the Bostalsee, the largest recreational lake in southwest Germany: sailing, surfing, stand-up paddling, swimming, pedal boating and fishing are the order of the day. For the jump into the cool water there are two lidos available in summer. Those who prefer to be active out of the water can do so on the seven-kilometer-long lake circuit. For the physical well-being on the way is provided. From May to September, various events are held.

Those interested in art and culture go on a journey to the Celtic ring fortification in Otzenhausen, it is over 2,000 years old, visit Tholey Abbey, the oldest monastery in Germany, with choir windows by the world-famous artist Gerhard Richter, or stroll through the town of St. Wendel with its beautiful alleys, the Wendelinus Basilica and the castle square.

The team of the Sankt Wendeler Land Touristik is happy to help you plan your stay and wishes you a nice stay in the Sankt Wendeler Land.
