Some information on accessibility are listed below. Detailed information can be found in the test report.

  • There are twelve marked parking spaces available for people with disabilities (parking space size: 300 cm x 500 cm; distance to the entrance approx. 100 m), as well as a parking space for minibuses.
  • The entrance can be reached from the parking lot via a path that is easy to walk and drive on.
  • All areas of the zoo that can be used by guests and are elevated can be reached without steps, by ramp or elevator. There are door thresholds of up to 2 cm in some areas.
  • The ramps have a maximum gradient of 6%. 
  • The elevator in the Yukon Market Hall is 110 cm x 140 cm. 
  • All elevated passages and doors that can be used by guests are at least 88 cm wide.
  • There are 16 designated spaces for wheelchair users in the Yukon Stadium (grandstand). These seats are accessible without steps and with a maximum longitudinal gradient of 6%.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the elevated restaurants.
  • Seating is available throughout the zoo.
  • The main paths are mostly easy to walk and drive on (the Zambezi concrete path and Afi Mountain have a 7% gradient).
  • Information / exhibits in the animal houses and the animals in the outdoor enclosures are mostly visible, perceptible and legible when seated.
  • Aids available: wheelchair, rollator 
  • Technical options for conveying information: audio guide, films
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Mobile or fixed seating is available for use during the tour. The entire route is steplessly accessible for wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary.

Public WC for people with disabilities  

  • There are nine WCs available for people with disabilities.
  • The toilet doors are at least 90 cm wide.
  • There are grab rails on both sides of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up. 
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible. 
  • The mirror can be seen when standing and sitting.
  • The WCs can be accessed from at least one side.
  • A "toilet for all" is available at Yukon Bay.
