Spectacular natural spectacle in Andernach on the Rhine: Experience the highest cold-water geyser in the world.

You will start your expedition at the Geysir Experience Center and learn everything about the natural phenomenon of the cold water geyser in Andernach. Interactive exhibits, experiment stations and media installations let you experience the natural phenomenon with all your senses.  In the second part of the trip, enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the Rhine to the Rhine peninsula and nature reserve "Namedyer Werth" to experience the eruption of the world's highest cold water geyser with up to 60 meters as the highlight of the expedition.

 All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users". 

Some information on accessibility are listed below. In the separate document "Detailed information" detailed descriptions are available.

  • There are three parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities in the visitor center that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via an elevator. Exception: The roof terrace is only accessible via steps.
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The counter/cash desk is no more than 110 cm high. There is no alternative way to communicate while seated.
  • Seating is available.
  • There is a public WC for people with disabilities in the visitor center, which can be accessed from both sides (90 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.   
  • Access to the ship is via a ramp at the jetty.
  • Deck 1 is steplessly accessible. Deck 2 is only accessible via a staircase.  
  • Wheelchair compatible tables are available on decks 1 and 2 (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).  
  • There is a public WC for people with disabilities on board, which is partially accessible (64 cm). The grab rails on the WC cannot be flipped-up.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is required. The entire route of the tour is steplessly accessible for wheelchair users.

  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • In the elevator, an emergency call is confirmed audibly. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • In the exhibition, information on the exhibits is conveyed in written form and acoustically. 
  • There are no guided tours available for people with hearing impairment and deaf people.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The signage (for orientation) is designed in easy-to-read, high-contrast lettering.
  • All areas are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically.
  • Stairs are not designed with high visual or tactile contrast. Stairs have a handrail on at least one side.
  • The information on the exhibits/stations in the exhibition is provided in writing and is predominantly visually rich in contrast.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing. There is a tactile station on the 2nd floor of the visitor center.  
  • There are no guided tours for people with visual impairments or blind people.
