"Große Werkstatt" at the Reden experience site

"Große Werkstatt" at the Reden experience site (Gerd Wehlack)

Bildstockstraße 11, 66578 Schiffweiler

Welcome to the Reden adventure resort! Discover the diversity of this unique industrial heritage site in the heart of Saarland. For almost 150 years, hard coal was mined on the grounds of the adventure site between 1846 and 1995.

Over the last few years, the former mine has gradually been transformed into a nationally renowned tourist and ecological attraction, which is to be further developed.

One of the architectural highlights at the Reden experience site is one of the building ensembles around Alfred-Wegener-Platz, the Great Workshop. Its classic brick/sandstone façade with elegant window arches hardly suggests at first glance that hard work was once done inside the hall. Today it is used for a wide variety of events and functions at the site.
