Theatre of the Altmark (Manuela Fischer)

The Theater der Altmark has a large theatre with 556 seats, a backstage theatre with 110 seats, a small theatre with 99 seats, a foyer with 81 seats as well as the Kaisersaal, theatre café and theatre education centre (TPZ). The TdA puts on around 13 premières for adults, children and young people each season. 13 actors (wmd) belong to the permanent ensemble. In addition, around 75 employees (wmd) and guest performers from all areas of the performing arts are employed at the TdA. 

The TdA sees itself as a forum, meeting place and venue for artistic dialogue on contemporary and regional issues. It is actively involved in social processes and thus creates identity and meaning.

  • There are three parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp or elevator. 
  • All doors/passages and paths that can be used and raised by guests are at least 80 cm wide. With the exception of the stair platform lift to the Rangfoyer. Here the width is 72 cm.
  • The counter/cash desk is 100 cm high. There is no alternative way to communicate while seated.
  • Seating is available.
  • There are designated spaces for wheelchair users.
  • There is a public WC for people with disabilities in the main building, which can be accessed from both sides (70 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • There is a public WC for people with disabilities in the small building, which can be accessed from one side (80 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the WC.

  • The signage (for orientation) is designed in easily legible and high-contrast lettering.
  • All areas are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • The first and last steps of some staircases have horizontal and vertical contrasting edges. 
  • Stairs have a handrail on at least one side.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing.
