Tourist information Bad Kösen

Tourist information Bad Kösen (Manuela Fischer)

With its historic salt works and the ruins of Saaleck and Rudelsburg castles, Bad Kösen invites you to take a trip to one of the most beautiful parts of the Saale Valley.  The first salt deposits were tapped as early as the end of the 17th century. Bad Kösen has officially been known as a "brine spa" since 1859.

The historic salt works are a unique technical monument in Europe and are still in operation. In the summer months, when the air at the graduation tower is enriched with a light mist of brine, open-air inhalations are possible on the graduation tower.
