As Saxony's court and state opera house it also harbours a centuries-long tradition through top-class musical performances and world premieres that wrote opera history. Here, international artists take the stage, accompanied by the renowned Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, one of the most traditional orchestras in the world, which has been in existence for over 460 years.
