Youth Hostel Nebra (Ramona Wolf)

From the high Nebra youth hostel you can enjoy a wonderful view over the idyllic Unstruttal. Our youth hostel is located at the highest point in the city, which became world famous thanks to the sensational discovery of the Nebra Sky Disk.

Whether in a canoe on the Unstrut, on a trip through the “Arche Nebra” or while experiencing nature in our region: This family vacation will be eventful! The leisure activities in and around the house and the outdoor terrace adventure pool right next door are fun for young and old alike.

School trips are fun too! There is plenty of space for exercise on our large, varied grounds. Numerous sports and leisure opportunities await guests. And at the same time, your class will become a real team!

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility tested - partially barrier-free for people with walking disabilities".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report at the end.

  • There is an unmarked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size 350 cm x 500 cm, distance to the entrance 100 m).
  • The path from the car park to the entrance is easy to walk and drive on. The entrance door is 300 cm wide and steplessly accessible.
  • The reception counter is 110 cm high. All rooms that can be used by the guest are accessible at ground level via indoor and outdoor paths.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 80 cm wide.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the dining room and in the wine tavern.
  • The rooms can be reached via a 20 m long and 108 cm wide path that is easy to walk and drive on and has a gradient of 8 %. Alternatively, there is a staircase in the building.
  • Dining and conference room "Hörsaal" are located in the service building and can also be reached at ground level via a 15 m long outdoor path with a 10 % gradient.

Barrier-free rooms 005 and 03 with a shared bathroom (ground floor)

  • The rooms are identical in construction and furnishings are identical. 2 rooms each share a bathroom.
  • The movement areas in the sleeping area are:
  • in front of essential immovable furnishings at least 200 cm x 400 cm;
  • to the right of the bed 200 cm x 200 cm, to the left the bed is against the wall.
  • The narrowest passage width in the room is 200 cm.
  • The movement areas in the bathroom are:
  • in front of the toilet and the sink at least 120 cm x 120 cm;
  • to the left of the toilet 45 cm x 70 cm, to the right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab handles that can be folded up to the left and right of the toilet.
  • The sink is wheelchair accessible.
  • The mirror can be viewed while standing or sitting.
  • The ground-level shower area is 100 cm x 100 cm. Shower chair and grab bar are available.
  • There is no alarm trigger.

  • There is no alarm in the building.
  • In the dining room there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, in the wine bar not.
  • There are no areas with low background noises.
  • There are no televisions with teletext in the rooms.
  • There is no free WiFi access.
  • There is no freely available power outlet near the bed.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms.
  • External paths usually have visually contrasting and tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries.
  • Glass doors are usually fully or partially provided with safety markings.
  • Rooms and corridors are brightly illuminated. There are no obstacles, e.g. objects protruding into the path/room.
  • Stairs have at least a handrail on one side.
  • General information is usually rich in contrast and easy to read, but is not available in Braille or prismatic writing.
  • In outdoor areas, the pavement boundary is tactile and visually rich in contrast. There are no floor indicators.
  • Operating elements are tactile. Signs, however, are not.
