Lindau Youth Hostel

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and partially accessible for wheelchair users".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

• There is one unmarked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 270 cm x 420 cm). The surface quality of the car park is not easy to walk and drive on.
• The path from the car park to the main entrance is 70 m long and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 2,5 % over a distance of 70 m.
• The path from the car park to the side entrance is 50 m long and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 6 % over a distance of 20 m.
• The bus stop Youth hostel Lindau is 280 m away.
• The building is steplessly accessible via the main entrance with ramp and via the side entrance.
• The ramp at the main entrance has a maximum gradient of 5 % and a total length of 4,50 m.
• All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via ramps.
• The ramp in the youth hostel has a maximum gradient of 3,9 % and a total length of 7 m.
• All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
• The reception desk is at its lowest point 95 cm high. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
• There are wheelchair accessible tables available in the dining room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
• Offered aids: height adjustable nursing bed (external service provider)

Room B0.01 (multi-bed room, ground floor)

• There are six other identical rooms.
• The manoeuvring spaces in front of/behind the door are at least 150 cm x 150 cm.
• The manoeuvring spaces are:
  in front of essential stationary furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
  left of the bed 213 cm x 200 cm; on the right is the bed on the wall.
• The bed is 47 cm high.
• A nursing bed is available.

Sanitary rooms 1 and 2 - at the same time public WC for disabled people (ground floor)

• The manoeuvring spaces are:
  in front of the toilet and of the washbasin at least 170 cm x 130 cm;
  left and right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 55 cm. 
• There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
• The sink has limited access.
• The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
• The shower is accessible without thresholds.
• The manoeuvring space in the shower is 186 cm x 200 cm.
• A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
• There are grab rails available in the shower.
• An alarm trigger is available.

• Die Bewegungsflächen betragen: vor dem WC und dem Waschbecken mindestens 170 cm x 130 cm; links und rechts neben dem WC mindestens 90 cm x 55 cm. 
• Es sind links und rechts vom WC Haltegriffe vorhanden. Die Haltegriffe sind hochklappbar.

• Es ist ein Duschsitz vorhanden oder kann bei Bedarf bereitgestellt werden.
• Es sind Haltegriffe in der Dusche vorhanden.
• Es ist ein Alarmauslöser vorhanden.

Sanitary rooms 3 and 4 - at the same time public WC for disabled people (ground floor)

• The manoeuvring spaces are:
  in front of/behind the door at least 130 cm x 130 cm;
  in front of the toilet at least 150 cm x 131 cm;
  in front of the washbasin 150 cm x 120 cm;
  left of the toilet at least 90 cm x 69 cm and right of the toilet 20 cm x 69 cm.
• There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
• The sink has limited access.
• The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
• The shower is accessible without thresholds.
• The manoeuvring space in the shower is at least 186 cm x 150 cm.
• A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
• There are grab rails available in the shower.
• An alarm trigger is available.
