Lindau Youth Hostel

Lindau Youth Hostel on Lake Constance is ideal for school trips, music groups and conferences and also welcomes families in particular.

The youth hostel offers 71 rooms for up to six people, as well as five meeting rooms, a dining room and bistro, a sports & games room and an outdoor area with a volleyball court, a children's playground and a slackline. Visitors to the accommodation can look forward to a wide range of activities - in-house, on site or in the region. For example, how about a visit to the Lindau thermal baths or a trip to the island of Mainau?

For guests traveling with a wheelchair, the accommodation has wheelchair-friendly communal areas and meeting rooms. The outdoor area is also wheelchair-friendly and access to the building is step-free. The youth hostel also has seven wheelchair-accessible rooms with bathrooms.

  • There is one unmarked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 270 cm x 420 cm). The surface quality of the car park is not easy to walk and drive on.
  • The path from the car park to the main entrance is 70 m long and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 2,5 % over a distance of 70 m.
  • The path from the car park to the side entrance is 50 m long and has a maximum longitudinal gradient of 6 % over a distance of 20 m.
  • The bus stop Youth hostel Lindau is 280 m away.
  • The building is steplessly accessible via the main entrance with ramp and via the side entrance.
  • The ramp at the main entrance has a maximum gradient of 5 % and a total length of 4,50 m.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible at ground level or via ramps.
  • The ramp in the youth hostel has a maximum gradient of 3,9 % and a total length of 7 m.

Sanitary rooms 1 and 2 - at the same time public WC for disabled people (ground floor)

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet and of the washbasin at least 170 cm x 130 cm;
    left and right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 55 cm. 
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink has limited access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
