GNTB puts Destination Germany in the spotlight at international creator event in Hamburg
Frankfurt am Main, 30 July 2026 – From 13 to 18 October 2026, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) and Hamburg Tourismus GmbH (HHT) will host the GNTB Travel Creator Summit x Traverse 26 in Hamburg. Around 150 international travel creators, influencers and content professionals will gather in the Hanseatic city to network, gain fresh inspiration for the industry and experience Destination Germany first-hand. The programme combines destination experiences, practical workshops, inspiring conference sessions and networking opportunities.
The GNTB's cooperation partner and host for the Summit is Hamburg Tourismus GmbH. The event is being organised jointly with Traverse, an internationally established agency and community platform for travel creators and influencer marketing.
Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the GNTB, explains: "Content creators play a central role in our international brand communications. Through social media and strategic influencer marketing, we reach relevant target audiences around the world and strengthen awareness of Destination Germany. With the GNTB Travel Creator Summit x Traverse 26 in Hamburg, we are once again highlighting our strategic collaboration with these important multipliers. At the same time, Hamburg – as a creative, cosmopolitan destination with strong international appeal – provides the ideal stage for this innovative event."
Michael Otremba, Managing Director of Hamburg Tourismus GmbH, says: "The GNTB Travel Creator Summit x Traverse 26 will enable people to experience Hamburg, tell its stories and share them with global communities. Our Elbphoria campaign, marking the 10th anniversary of the Elbphilharmonie, captures the unique feeling of immersing yourself in Hamburg. We are showcasing Hamburg as a waterfront cultural metropolis – approachable, creative, international and full of stories. It is precisely this combination of harbour, music, gastronomy and club culture that makes Hamburg so distinctive for international visitors."
Even before the official start of the event, the GNTB will offer participants the opportunity to discover different regions of Germany on pre-convention tours, gather authentic impressions and create content showcasing Destination Germany.
The Summit begins on 13 October with arrivals and an exclusive museum programme in Hamburg. From 14 to 16 October, participants will enjoy a varied programme of destination experiences in Hamburg, Lübeck, Schwerin and the Altes Land region. These will be complemented by an exclusive guided tour of the Elbphilharmonie and culinary workshops with local partners. The event concludes on 17 and 18 October with a two-day conference programme featuring international speakers, panel discussions, workshops and extensive networking opportunities.
