Europa-Park in Rust in Baden-Württemberg, between Freiburg im Breisgau and Offenburg, is the largest theme park in the German-speaking world and one of the very few to remain open over the winter months.
The park is divided up into 18 themed areas and boasts a whopping 13 rollercoasters, ranging from the Silver Star that hits speeds of up to 130 km/h to rides designed for the youngest visitors. Kids will love exploring the beautifully designed fairytale worlds, such as the interactive musical challenge in Rapunzel's Tower. There is no end of indoor attractions for the whole family to enjoy when the weather isn't playing ball, along with the newly added Rulantica Water World and around 23 hours of shows every day. At Halloween, the park is transformed into a brilliantly spooky setting with an autumnal feel, before it delights visitors as a winter wonderland later in the year.
