Accommodation and dining establishments throughout Germany are guided by sustainability principles, ensuring high-quality and eco-friendly experiences for their guests. Large hotel chains in Germany are reducing their CO2 emissions by using modern technology, conserving resources through environmentally conscious management and reducing their waste volumes.
In addition, many smaller hotels have also dedicated themselves fully to sustainability with creative initiatives. Here you can stay in lovingly restored listed buildings, admire fantastic views in imaginative tiny houses or enjoy organic food from the hotel's own cultivation.

The German Travel Management Association (VRD) awards hotels in various European countries for effective environmental management and socially responsible practices.
The association of BIO HOTELS uses 100% organic food and beverages under strict guidelines and uses only certified natural cosmetics. All BIO HOTELS are also "eco hotel certified".
ECOCAMPING is a European sustainability management system for environmental protection, nature conservation, safety and quality on campsites.

Viabono was founded in 2000 on the initiative of the German Federal Environment Ministry and the Federal Environment Agency. It is awarded to all types of accommodation establishments, conference centres, restaurants, package tours and providers as well as canoe providers, nature parks and tourism municipalities.
The National Park Partnership represents the cooperation between the National Park administration, municipalities, nature conservation associations and tourism businesses in the region that have close ties to the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park.
