Press release: GNTB welcomes new member VIVA Cruises

Frankfurt am Main, 7 November 2025 – VIVA Cruises will become a member of the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) on January 1, 2026. The GNTB's Board of Directors unanimously approved the company's application for membership at its 109th meeting on November 4.

Petra Hedorfer, CEO of the GNTB, explains: "River cruises are a segment with high growth potential for the German incoming tourism. Destinations also benefit from the economic value added generated by cruise guests' shore excursions. In the GNTB Travel Industry Expert Panel in spring 2025, 70 percent of the participating international CEOs and key accounts confirmed high demand for river cruises. More than half of the tour operators who do not currently market river cruises in Germany are planning to include such offers in the coming years. We have already successfully presented the river cruise product together with VIVA Cruises at the GTM 2025."
