An international aviation hub and gateway to the world: from Frankfurt Airport (FRA), 88 airlines serve 259 destinations in 99 countries worldwide. In 2018 more than 69 million passengers came through Germany's largest airport, with about 60% of them transferring here, more than at any other European airport.
Excellent Connectivity at a Prime Location
More than anything else, Frankfurt Airport owes its status as one of the world’s foremost hubs and steadily growing international importance to its central location in Germany and Europe. This is supported by optimal networking of air, road and rail transportation, enabling innovative and environmentally sensible approaches. When passengers arrive by train, they can check their luggage right at the AIRail terminal next to the long-distance railway station. There are also 15,000 parking spaces just a short walk from the check-in areas, as well as bus parking on the P36 lot near Terminal 1 and right in front of Terminal 2.
The Fascination of FRA
Over 290 shops, bars and restaurants provide unique variety from all over the world. Guests can also experience the airport’s fascination by going on a bus tour of the apron (commissions are paid starting with the first booking) or taking advantage of the Visitor’s Terrace in Terminal 2. State-of-the-art rest areas also invite them to relax and recharge their batteries.
For departures, connecting flights and landings, fast orientation, good signage, and competent support are indispensable at a major airport like Frankfurt. The flight displays therefore also show information in each airline’s national language. Walking and waiting times are indicated, and various other services like the FRA App, information gates, service points, and the Frankfurt Airport website additionally help passengers and visitors find their way around.
