The Saarland Museum in Saarbrücken covers a broad span of history from the Middle Ages to the present day.
Since opening as a local history museum and contemporary art gallery in the 1920s, the museum has amassed a highly regarded set of collections. These collections are distributed between the museum in the palace church, the Old Collection and the Modern Gallery with its outstanding works from the 19th to 21st century. Regular exhibitions of classical and contemporary art are also held here.
