Nuremberg combines historical charm and modern living in a unique way. One option for exploring the city by bike is the Wöhrd Lake Tour, which runs for about 12 kilometres from near the city centre. The route skirts Wöhrd Lake and then leads through the idyllic city park and across the river Pegnitz, with plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the scenery along the way. Sigmaringen Castle

Sigmaringen Castle, once home to the Hohenzollern dynasty, sits on a rocky crag high above the Danube. It’s simply stunning! The best way to get there is on foot along part of the Hohenzollern Route, which passes through the fabulous countryside of the Swabian Alb. Who will you take with you? Every August and September, an unmissable natural spectacle awaits on Lüneburg Heath as the heather bursts into bloom. Immerse yourself in a colourful sea of purple and pink flowers as you explore the rolling hills and vast expanses of this extraordinary region. A walk around @lueneburgerheide is a real delight.

Exquisite wines await at the romantic Johannisberg Estate in the Rheingau region. How about a stroll around the vineyards as the sun on the horizon bathes the vines in a soft glow? Grömitz with its fabulous beach is a real highlight of Germany’s Baltic coast. A cycle route takes you from Grömitz through the seaside resorts of Dahme and Kellenhusen to Grube. Along the way you can enjoy great views of the sea and the beautiful scenery. But Grömitz also has plenty of other places that are worth exploring, such as its charming old quarter, pretty promenade and welcoming cafés and restaurants. Pingelturm tower

Bremerhaven offers a whole host of culture and history with a nautical twist – the perfect destination for would-be explorers and seafarers! You can enjoy the maritime flair of this bustling port city on an extensive stroll along the promenade up to Pingelturm tower, where you can catch some great views of the cruise and container ships.
