Actually, all passenger handling operations are bundled in Terminal 1, areas A, B and C. For departures, connecting flights and landings, fast orientation, good signage, and competent support are indispensable at a major airport like Frankfurt. The flight displays therefore also show information in each airline’s national language. Walking and waiting times are indicated, and various other services like the FRA App, information gates, service points, and the Frankfurt Airport website additionally help passengers and visitors find their way around.

Getting to and from the Airport by Train
FRA has a long-distance station and a regional station. Every day more than 200 ICE long-distance connections leave from the long-distance station for the most important German cities and many other destinations elsewhere in Europe. There are excellent long-distance links for getting to Frankfurt Airport from Cologne Central Station in less than an hour or from Stuttgart Central Station in around 70 minutes, as well as from various other cities. The regional railway station also boasts more than 220 connections serving the surrounding Rhine-Main region. Central Frankfurt is just a 15-minute ride away.
A Lufthansa Express Rail service is also available. After arriving at the airport, passengers can head for the AIRail Terminal adjacent to the long-distance station and check their luggage there. This service can be booked worldwide via GDS. The AIRail service lets Lufthansa passengers enjoying their ride from Cologne, Siegburg/Bonn, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Karlsruhe, Mannheim or Stuttgart returning to Frankfurt on level "0".
Arriving and Departing by Bus
The airport is served by several bus lines. Lines 14 to 24 depart from in front of Terminal 1 (on the arrivals level). The P36 parking lot for long-distance and chartered buses is located near Terminal 1.
Arriving and Departing by Car
The airport is located right at one of Europe's most important motorway intersections, where the A3, A67 and A5 cross. This makes it extremely easy to get to and from it by road.

Responsibility for the Future
Sustainability being firmly anchored in Frankfurt Airports Corporate Principles in its Agenda 2015, in 2010 we compiled our objectives and the measures necessary for their achievement for the first time in a Sustainability Program.
Our strategic orientation was developed in an interactive process involving all important stakeholder groups. Internal and external experts were checking and weighting the various issues identified on the basis of the guidelines pertaining to sustainability reporting as developed by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and in stakeholder consultations. Crucial sustainability topics have been discussed in Executive Board meetings since 2014, involving also the heads of Frankfurt Airport business, service and central units. This ensures a greater commitment towards sustainability issues across the Group, while rising the relevance of this area of action. These include the adoption and pursuit of ambitious climate protection targets with a view to the year 2030 for Fraport AG in Frankfurt and the Fraport Group. Fraport AG also supports the goal of ACI Europe, the umbrella organization for airports, to make the business activities of its member airports completely CO2-free by 2050.
Support for Physically Challenged Passengers
FraCare Services GmbH provides assistance to physically challenged and disabled passengers in compliance with EU regulations. Assistance can be requested by contacting the airline or travel agency at least 48 hours prior to departure. This leaves enough time to forward the information to the service provider. It is not possible to directly book assistance from the service provider.

Arriving by Car

Arriving by Train
Travelers with reduced mobility can obtain assistance for boarding, transferring, and getting off trains by contacting the Mobility Service of Deutsche Bahn AG:

To request assistance for boarding, transferring, and getting off trains, please use the registration form of Deutsche Bahn AG. To ensure that the service personnel of Deutsche Bahn AG can arrange this assistance in time, it is advisable to notify the Mobility Service well in advance (at least one workday beforehand).
Regional Train Station:
When arriving by local public transportation (suburban train, RE, or RB), get off at platform 1, 2 or 3 of the regional train station (on Level -1). From platform 2 or 3, follow the blue wheelchair symbol to an elevator to go up to the departures level, or else use the escalator. In section B of platform 1 there is an elevator to the ServicePoint of Deutsche Bahn AG (on Level 0). The intercom there can be used to request assistance.
Long-Distance Train Station:
When arriving by long-distance train (IC, EC or ICE), get off at platform 4, 5, 6 or 7 of the long-distance train station in the AIRail Terminal. Each platform has an elevator you can use. To find your check-in counter, follow the signs. There are special signs for wheelchair users.
Support for accessible check-in On the day of your departure, go as usual to
- your airline’s check-in counter or
- one of the call points of the passenger assistance service.
Dogs are welcome in the terminals, but they must be kept on a leash at all times. If your dog accompanies you on a trip, please contact your airline ahead of time to find out which requirements must be met.
